Breaking the rules. Sometimes, you’ve got to do it. Like wearing white after Labor Day.
Or the five-second rule for a dropped piece of steak. (Ten. Ten’s fine.) Or sitting on a couch after five hours on the dance floor. Which is what’s going to have to happen at Do Not Sit on the Furniture, a new hall of flashing lights and DJ-spun electronica from the Electric Pickle crew, now open in South Beach. If we told you that we had a vision of you dancing to electronic music under a disco ball that looks like something from Close Encounters of the Third Kind, you’d probably say, “That’s... pretty specific.” But also, you’d probably want to know more. Well, seems the Electric Pickle guys have a new space. They’ve stocked it with that aforementioned disco ball, gold-paneled ceilings, gold cassette-tape-lined walls and a gold glitter bar. It’s like Auric Goldfinger’s personal after-hours. So, Saturday. Some point after midnight. Stop by. Get a drink from the bar. Drink it in one of the high black leather booths in the corner.
