Giegling represent the future of electronic music for a post-modern world that has brought down the barriers of a musical dictum fashioned from a time that’s as distant from today as the phonograph was from tape. During an era when a record label needs to be far more than just a producer of records, Giegling embodies what it means to make records for a generation raised on the Internet and Limewire.

Giegling is a creative collective; a label; a production team of DJs; a club and it all started with a party in Weimar, Germany around 2006. Finding a home in an abandoned building the collective quickly garnered infamy in the region when “a lot of magical things happened” according to Konstantin (aka Herr Koreander) in an interview for Resident Advisor.

Konstantin established Giegling alongside Dustin, Dwig, Ateq and Rafael, mutual spirits with the same idealistic goal of creating something special that was “about the things music and a community can do to you” says Konstantin. With that emphasis on community Giegling came into existence, and even though those first parties merely lasted 4 sessions, what they created in that time cemented the future of what would become the collective and the label. “We wanted to carry this energy, we wanted to save this vibe.”
