Scanning the track titles of American DJ and producer Shogun’s discography is similar to grazing through the chapters of a warrior adventure novel. It’s part of the reason why his name fits so well.

Especially when you consider the blooming mesh of splashy synths and pulsating buildups he uses to create the feel of a hero’s saga personified in titles such as ‘Save Me,’ ‘Skyfire’ and ‘Run to My Rescue.’ But for the OC-residing artist and current #47 on DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs poll, the past six years of his career have turned into a globetrotting adventure quest for clout in the DJ world.

Consistently featured on Armin van Buuren’s A State of Trance Radio Show and on Armin’s own Armind label, Shogun’s releases ‘Ehru’, ‘Zanarkand’, and ‘Abduction’ lit up the airwaves, being heard around the globe by more than 25 million people. There hasn’t been a track of his in the past year that’s not landed in the Beatport Top 10-originals ‘UFO,’ ‘Amplify,’ “Lotus’ and his remix of BT, Arty & Nadia Ali’s ‘Must Be The Love’ have all smashed the charts.
Shogun is the first Asian American on the internationally known Armada Record Label and performs at the biggest festivals and clubs around the world. With the recent chart topping release of the Album ‘Dragon’, and the DJ skills to rock the best clubs in the world, the future is already written for Shogun.
